Situated in the Southwestern Caribbean Sea, Grenada is a beautiful island approximately 21 miles by 12 miles in size. Its proximity to the equator gives it an all year round tropical climate giving it some of the most impressive flora and fauna found anywhere. Known worldwide for its production of Nutmeg and Mace, Grenada is the larger of the islands that make up the Grenadines, Carriacou and Petite Martinique being two of the others. Grenada today retains it old world charm and looks but still offers modern shopping, restaurants and facilities such as gyms, cinemas, etc. Regular flights from the UK, USA and many countries serve Grenada’s tourist industry. Being an island, the sea is an important asset with sailing/fishing being very popular for both food and sport/leisure. The trade winds that bathe Grenada enable sailors to enjoy the wonderful clear warm water and unique character of the surrounding islands - large and small.
